Will Patterson ('17) named National AP Scholar, 39 students recognized as AP Scholars

The AP Scholar distinction is granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP (Advanced Placement) exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

Oakbrook Preparatory School graduate Will Patterson was recently named a National AP Scholar.

The National AP Scholar distinction is granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP (Advanced Placement) exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

Patterson, who is currently attending the University of South Carolina Honors College and is also a National Merit Finalist, took  12 AP exams while at Oakbrook, with an average score of 4.42, and scored 4 or 5 on 11 of his 12 exams taken. 

Oakbrook gave 212 AP exams to 101 students in grades nine through 12, representing 17 subjects. The College Board recognized 39 Oakbrook students as AP Scholars for receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
